Over its 12.5 km course and with more than 350 metres of positive elevation gain, this route reveals part of the rich natural and cultural heritage of the parishes of Loureza and Burgueira, both belonging to the municipality of Oia.
Although the route is circular and signposted in both directions, we recommend walking it anti-clockwise, starting from Bar El Puente towards Pozas da Bugalleira.
After a short section through the streets of Loureza, the ascent begins along the bank of the River Tamuxe towards Burgueira, passing by Pozas da Bugalleira, Pozas de Loureza and Pozo do Arco.
These sites form a group of waterfalls and pools of great scenic value.
After following a stretch of wide tracks with excellent views over the River Miño, the route reaches the hamlet of Bonaval and, shortly afterwards, the parish of Burgueira.
A stone-paved path then leads to the Church of San Pedro de Burgueira and, from there, to the hamlet of Refoxos.
The descent continues along the path known as Camiño dos mortos, a dense woodland area that often goes unnoticed beside the Portarás bridge.
In the final section, the route reaches Pontella da Pedreira, another distinctive point where the walk can end with a refreshing swim.
