The Camiño da Costa begins in Portugal and enters Galicia through the municipality of A Guarda. After crossing the coastline of the municipalities of O Rosal and Baiona, it reaches Vigo and continues through Redondela, where it joins the Portuguese Way.
With 18 km of Atlantic coastline, the municipality of Oia is an essential stop on the Camiño da Costa. Two stages of this Jacobean route pass through the municipality: A Guarda–Oia (16.5 km) and Oia–Baiona (17.8 km).
Walkers who stop in Oia discover a place where they can relax, explore its ancestral history, enjoy the local gastronomy and rest in one of the various accommodation options available.
CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE ALONG THE COASTAL WAY
Throughout its passage through Oia, pilgrims walk always close to the sea, enjoying views over the Atlantic Ocean and discovering along the way many of the municipality’s cultural and natural heritage attractions.
